Marriage counselings and the reasons why it can help in resolving marriage problems

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

One of the things we are good at is denial. We, people, love to deny that we have problems. We deny it to the point of hurting ourselves and others.  One of those things that is so common for denial is the need for marriage therapy.Maybe it is due to the fact that a marriage is a sacred thing.  But it is also important. So if there really are problems with the marriage then denying it will just make things worse. Here I present some reason as to why you should consider marriage counseling.

As a San Diego marriage counselor denial is so common.  But once a couple is able to get past that and seek help they can solve their problems. Counseling has enabled them to save their marriage a lot of times. And that would be the top reason why marriage therapy is needed. Counseling will only bring psotive results if you want to save your marriage. Not seeking help will result to ugly outcomes.

Your children are another reason why you really need to seek help.  If there are kids involved, counseling is a must. It’s not only the couples who are affected if they are having problems in their relationship. It can also affect the children in the family. So if you really care for your children then go and seek help so you can stop affecting them with your relationship problems.  Doing San Diego marriage counseling has allowed me to see how much relationship problems affect the children.Don’t let your problems as a couple affect your children’s well being.

Last thing would be the love that you have for each other.Married couples are not the only ones qualified for this.  It could also be for couples seeking to maybe get into marriage. If there was love before seeking couples therapy can be of big help in bringing that love back.  My couples therapy San Diego service has saved many relationships that went onto marriage. But it just helps those couples that are also eager to bring their relationship back just like before.

So if you still want to save your relationship with your spouse and with your family then do not deny the fact that you need to seek help.  It might be the only thing that can save the relationship. It will change and enliven your life again.

Many People Have Gum Disease, are You At Risk?

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Gum disease is an infection in your mouth, causing the gums and bones to become unhealthy. With this disease if it continues to go unchecked, you might lose your teeth, and you could also notice your health declining.

There are some people who are more apt to experience periodontal disease. Be it due to diabetes, or Down syndrome. Both of those medical conditions can affect a person’s mouth and cause them to have gingival disease easier than others.

Periodontal disease may even be hereditary in some cases. Children of parents who’ve always experienced problems will want to keep a closer track on their teeth.

People who smoke and use chewing tobacco are more apt to experience gum disease too. See they already have the stains from smoking. All that is a breeding ground for those bacteria that live in your mouth. They grow and feed off of and underneath all of the stains and the lack of brushing that many smokers may experience.

Eating a lot of sugar will put you into the category of a person who may have periodontal disease. That’s why it’s important as a kid to begin a good regimen of taking care of your teeth. When you get home and eat a snack after school, brush your teeth as soon as you’re done eating.

Also drinks that kids and adults drink have so much sugar in them too. After you’re done drinking you need to brush your teeth. It may seem that you will be brushing a lot if you really want to avoid gum disease. But in your mouth hundreds of bacteria can be sitting around, just waiting for you to mess up. Growing and making your gums bad. However, you should always brush very gently, never harshly. Breaking up the plaque does not take much, but it does require consistency to keep it from creating a problem.

Disclaimer: If you have or think you might have gum disease or any other health problem, please visit your doctor or periodontist for advice, diagnosis and treatment. This article is for information purposes only and does not intend to provide advice, diagnosis or treatment for any health condition.

What really drives athletes to excel

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

We are amazed at how blessed athletically our sports stars are. They are rightly so. But one thing we do not notice is the importance that psychology brings into athletics. But it makes sense when you think about it.  Because sports isn’t about only physical ability. When we talk about a competition the mind always comes into play. That would be why most of these athletes that we idolize are not just physically gifted. But when you get to know and talk to them you will see that they are also gifted mentally.

Now what I would like to share from my experience as a San Diego sports psychology is that you can become great in that aspect as well. You may not be in control of your physical skills. But you can control your mental toughness. Oftentimes, it would enable an inferior athlete beat a more physically superior one.We know it is true most of the time.  And the factor that allows the less talented to succeed is their mind.

So what most athletes do now is they have a success coach. Most success coaches are therapists.  Just like me, I run a family counselor San Diego business and part of that includes helping athletes. That is why it makes sense that a psychologist who deals with psychological problems can deal with the problems of these athletes.

It is not uncommon for an athlete that is struggling psychologically come seek my help with their depression issues. Most of the time, their failures is what caused their depression.  So as a depression counseling it has allowed me to implement sports psychology to overcome their depression. All it takes is that one for most of the cases. Because the depression was caused by failure.Make them successful and you also get rid of their depression.

Hopefully, you will realize that the secret to success is not always hinged on your physical abilities. No, the secret to your success is most of the time determined by your mental strength. And by focusing on how to improve the mind, many athletes experience tremendous success.
